Uzbekistan and the United States have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing cooperation on radiation and nuclear safety. The agreement was signed during the 70th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and involves collaboration between the regulatory authorities of both countries in areas such as licensing, inspections, emergency preparedness, and professional training. The Uzbek Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety noted that this memorandum will facilitate the exchange of information and expertise, ultimately contributing to the safety of nuclear energy use in Uzbekistan as the country develops its nuclear infrastructure.
